RM400,000 Contribution to MAF Natural Disaster Emergency Fund and RM110,500 Raised for MALBATT CIMIC Mission in Lebanon
KUALA LUMPUR, 2 OCTOBER 2025 – Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (“LTAT”) and its Group of Companies have once again demonstrated their unwavering solidarity with the Malaysian Armed Forces (“MAF”) community, contributing a total of RM510,500 to support both local relief efforts and international peacekeeping missions.
This two-pronged initiative reflects LTAT’s enduring commitment to the welfare, resilience and dignity of the MAF who dedicate their lives to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and projecting Malaysia’s values of peace and compassion abroad.
Standing with MAF Families in Times of Crisis
In response to the devastating floods and landslides that struck Sabah, LTAT, its Group of Companies, and a strategic partner have contributed a total of RM400,000 to the MAF Natural Disaster Emergency Fund. This support was not only intended to provide immediate financial assistance for relief and recovery efforts, but also to serve as a symbol of solidarity with the MAF personnel and their families who were directly impacted by the disaster.
This united contribution was made possible through the collective effort of LTAT, Affin Bank Berhad, Boustead Holdings Berhad, BHIC Submarine Engineering Services Sdn Bhd (“BSES”), Boustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn Bhd (“BHPetrol”), Boustead Plantations Berhad (“BPlant”), Pharmaniaga Berhad, Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Berhad (“BHIC”), Boustead Hotels & Resorts (“BHotels”), Mutiara Spaces by Boustead Properties (“BProp”), UAC Berhad, Power Cables Malaysia, Perbadanan Perwira Niaga Malaysia (“PERNAMA”) and Trans Resources Corporation Sdn Bhd.
The symbolic cheque presentation was held during the Ministry of Defence’s Program Jelajah Wira MADANI at the Pangkalan TLDM Kota Kinabalu on 26 September 2025. The contribution was formally received by the Chief of Staff of the MAF Headquarters, Lieutenant General Dato’ Azhan Hj Md Othman, on behalf of the Chief of Defence Force, General Tan Sri Haji Mohd Nizam Haji Jaffar, in the presence of the Minister of Defence, Dato’ Seri Haji Mohamed Khaled Nordin.
Beyond financial aid, Pharmaniaga Berhad mobilised its Skuad Operasi Sihat (“SOS”) to deliver emergency food supplies and essentials to 6 temporary evacuation centres (“PPS”) in Penampang and Membakut. This swift action ensured immediate relief for displaced families and highlighted the Group’s holistic approach combining financial contributions with on-the-ground humanitarian action. The SOS team also extended assistance to several affected Pharmaniaga employees, demonstrating compassion and resilience in times of hardship.
Supporting Malaysia’s Global Peacekeeping
LTAT and its Group of Companies also reinforced their support for the Malaysian Battalion (“MALBATT”) contingent deployed under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (“UNIFIL”). A total of RM110,500 was raised this year to strengthen Civil-Military Coordination (“CIMIC”) programmes led by MALBATT 850-13, surpassing the RM75,000 raised in 2024 for the previous contingent.
The contribution will assist MALBATT to continue its humanitarian and community outreach programmes, including the provision of essential aid to vulnerable communities living amidst the long-standing conflict in Lebanon. These CIMIC initiatives not only alleviate hardship but also embody Malaysia’s commitment to peace, compassion and global responsibility.
The symbolic handover ceremony was held on 1 October 2025 at MALBATT Village, Port Dickson, marking the second consecutive year that LTAT and its Group of Companies have coordinated support for MALBATT’s humanitarian efforts abroad. This growing support reflects the expanding needs on the ground and LTAT’s dedication to ensuring Malaysia remains a respected and reliable contributor to international peacekeeping.
Participating companies included Boustead Holdings Berhad, Mutiara Spaces by Boustead Properties (“BProp”), Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Berhad (“BHIC”), Boustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn Bhd (“BHPetrol”), Boustead Plantations Berhad (“BPlant”), Pharmaniaga Berhad, Power Cables Malaysia, Dhaya Maju LTAT, Wasco Coatings Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Affin Bank Berhad.
LTAT’s Chief Executive, Mohammad Ashraf Md Radzi, said:
“We firmly believe that our duty extends beyond managing the retirement savings of the Armed Forces. It is our moral responsibility to stand with the MAF community through every challenge they face, whether at home in times of disaster or abroad in the service of peace.”
“These contributions are more than financial commitments. They are symbols of solidarity, compassion and shared responsibility. We are proud to walk alongside our nation’s heroes, ensuring their welfare and reinforcing Malaysia’s role as a nation of peace and resilience.”
Through these combined initiatives, LTAT and its Group of Companies continue to strengthen the social safety net for MAF personnel, ensuring that their sacrifices are met with tangible support. LTAT remains committed to its mandate in safeguarding the contributions of the MAF while fostering a culture of care, resilience and solidarity. These efforts remind us that true strength lies not only in defending the nation’s borders but also in uplifting those in need, wherever they may be.
