Mutiara Spaces Elevates Learning Access for Armed Forces Children Through Sekolah Angkat MADANI Completion

RM50,000 strengthens digital education in Johor, advancing Smart TV learning and uplifting 500 students and 50 teachers through interactive tools

JOHOR, 20 NOVEMBER 2025 – In support of the Sekolah Angkat MADANI (SAM) 2025 aspiration to accelerate digital readiness and equitable learning, Mutiara Spaces, the placemaking arm of Boustead Properties Berhad, has contributed RM25,000 each to SK Sultan Sir Ibrahim, Kluang and SK Angkatan Tentera, Johor Bahru. The funding covers Smart TVs, upgraded Wi-Fi, power-socket enhancements, refreshed signage and teacher digital-skills training — actions that strengthen digital readiness and the quality of education at in-camp schools (SDK), directly benefiting children of Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) personnel who study there, while supporting the Government’s aspirations and advancing the welfare and well-being of ATM personnel and families.

For MAF, this collaboration provides long-term strategic benefits through an education partnership with Mutiara Spaces, including stronger education networks, digital pedagogy capability and deeper community ties.

This effort forms part of Boustead Properties Berhad’s Sustainability Goal No. 2 – Community Outreach & Well-being, and aligns with the Malaysia MADANI aspiration and the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education.

To complement the contribution, Mutiara Spaces organised an interactive student engagement programme titled “Misi Wira Cilik” — bringing together teachers, students, the Malaysian Armed Forces, and corporate partners for a shared learning experience that encouraged collaboration and creativity.

At SK Sultan Sir Ibrahim, students participated in a Canva Digital Storytelling Workshop, creating their first digital stories, while at SK Angkatan Tentera, students experienced interactive learning through Kahoot! app, turning classrooms into lively, gamified learning spaces.

“Education is the foundation of national resilience. By equipping teachers and students with digital tools, we are not only improving access to learning but also building confidence, creativity, and critical thinking — the qualities Malaysia’s next generation will need to thrive,” said Muhd Taufiq Jaapar, Chief Creative Strategy Officer of Boustead Properties Berhad.

“This initiative aligns with Malaysia MADANI’s mission to close learning gaps and uplift communities. By investing in practical digital tools — devices, connectivity upgrades, and teacher readiness — we are ensuring that the children of our Armed Forces receive opportunities that match their potential. This is Boustead’s role as a Group: strengthening communities, supporting national priorities, and enabling progress that matters,” said Dato’ Indera Ir. Dr. Hj. Ahmad Sabirin Arshad, Group Managing Director, Boustead Holdings Berhad.

Mock cheques worth RM25,000 each were presented to both schools as part of our long-term commitment to the national SAM programme.

  • SK Sultan Sir Ibrahim – Presented by Muhd Taufiq Jaapar to Zulnika Ramli, witnessed by Markas 7 Briged, the Kluang Education Office, and ATM representatives.
  • SK Angkatan Tentera – Presented to Muhammad Ezureen Esa, witnessed by Mej. Saiful Masri Md Sobry of the Johor Bahru Station Staff Headquarters (PSS MSSJ).

“For many of our students, this was their first experience using digital tools to express ideas creatively. The Smart TVs have transformed our classrooms into collaborative learning spaces. Our teachers now feel more confident integrating technology into lessons. We are grateful to Mutiara Spaces for supporting the national SAM agenda at the school level,” said Zulnika Ramli, Headmaster, SK Sultan Sir Ibrahim.

“The Kahoot! sessions introduced a new level of excitement and teamwork in our classrooms. With the Digital Fluency and PdPc course funded by Mutiara Spaces, our educators are now better equipped to deliver lessons aligned with national digital standards. We appreciate the support extended to our MAF community,” said Muhammad Ezureen Esa, Headmaster, SK Angkatan Tentera.

Mutiara Spaces will continue working with both schools to strengthen digital teaching mastery and sustain innovation in support of Malaysia MADANI’s education transformation and KPM’s Digital Education Strategy.

“This is not a one-off contribution, but a nation-building partnership. Our goal is to ensure that these Smart Classrooms remain active, relevant, and continuously improving — where corporate purpose supports public value and every child gains access to the tools to shape their future,” added Muhd Taufiq Jaapar.
